Kimberly Rorabaugh Abeyta, Au.D.

Dr. Abeyta, originally from Pennsylvania, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Science and Disorders from University of Pittsburgh in 2007 and her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Audiology from University of Pittsburgh in 2010 and 2011.  She completed her clinical residency at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2011 specializing in adult hearing aids, aural rehabilitation and cochlear implants.  Immediately after graduating with her Doctorate in Audiology, Dr. Abeyta moved to Newport Beach, California where she specialized in vestibular (balance) diagnostic testing, vestibular (balance) rehabilitation therapy, tinnitus treatment and fitting extended-wear hearing devices.  In 2012, Dr. Abeyta joined our practice here at Hearing Resource Center and Ear, Nose & Throat and Facial Plastic Surgery Center and was appointed to Director of Audiology in 2014.  She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, a Fellow of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) and a member of the American Tinnitus Association (ATA).  Dr. Abeyta currently specializes in adult hearing aids and the counseling and treatment of tinnitus, however she holds special interest in vestibular assessment and rehabilitation.

In her spare time, Dr. Abeyta enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Dr. Williams, originally from Virginia, received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University (JMU) in 2011 and her Doctorate of Audiology from JMU in 2016. While at JMU, Dr. Williams conducted clinical research on the effects of aging on the middle ear and presented her research at the American Academy of Audiology annual convention in 2015. Dr. Williams completed her fourth year audiology fellowship at Ear, Nose & Throat & Facial Plastic Surgery Center of Fredericksburg and joined the practice as a full time Audiologist in 2016. Dr. Williams is a licensed Audiologist in Virginia, a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, a member of the Speech and Hearing Association of Virginia, and holds a certificate of clinical competence in Audiology from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. Dr. Williams enjoys improving the quality of life and communication with loved ones for her patients. She also has a special interest in pediatric audiology.

In her spare time Dr. Williams enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and reading.

 

Nina Buckley-Ess, Au.D., CCC-A - Fredericksburg Audiologist

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Buckley-Ess, originally from Virginia, received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Radford University in 2011 and obtained her Doctorate of Audiology from Salus University's George S. Osborne College of Audiology in 2016. Dr. Buckley-Ess completed her 4th year fellowship at the University of Virginia-Health Systems. Dr. Buckley-Ess is also our Audiology Fellow Program Coordinator. Dr. Buckley-Ess is very active with the American Academy of Audiology and is currently a member of the AudiologyNOW! 2017 Learning Modules Subcommittee. Dr. Buckley-Ess is also a member of Salus University Alumni Board Association.

In her spare time, Dr. Buckley-Ess enjoys road trips and traveling, especially to Pennsylvania to see her niece. She also enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.

 

Zaan Ali, Au.D., CCC-A

Zaan Ali, Au.D., CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Ali, originally from New Jersey, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Cell Biology & Neuroscience and African, Middle Eastern, and South Asian Languages and Literatures from Rutgers University in 2015 and his Doctoral degree in Audiology from the Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium in 2019. He completed his clinical residency at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland, OH, specializing in adult diagnostics and hearing aids, vestibular testing, and cochlear implants. Dr. Ali enjoys helping patients improve their quality of life and is very passionate about implementing patient-centered care. He also has a special interest in cochlear implants. He is a fellow of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), where he holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology (CCC-A).

In his spare time, Dr. Ali enjoys hiking, baking, writing, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

 

Sydney Ross, Au.D., CCC-A

Sydney Ross, Au.D., CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Ross, originally from Virginia, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Howard University in 2014 and her Doctorate of Audiology from Ohio University in 2020. She fulfilled her 4th year externship at Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates, P.A, in Charlotte, North Carolina where she completed training in adult and pediatric diagnostics, hearing aids, cochlear implants, electrophysiology, and vestibular testing.

She has a passion for providing patient-centered hearing healthcare to assist her patients in achieving a better quality of life. She is a fellow of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), where she holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology (CCC-A).

In her spare time Dr. Ross enjoys participating in recreational sports and spending time with family and friends.

 

Lauren Levengood, Audiology Fellow

Lauren Levengood, Audiology Fellow

Ms. Levengood is originally from Lebanon, Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2017. She is currently completing her last year of a four-year doctoral program in audiology from Central Michigan University. As part of this program, Ms. Levengood is currently completing a one-year audiology fellowship here at Hearing Resource Center and Ear, Nose & Throat and Facial Plastic Surgery Center of Fredericksburg, where she will be specializing in audiological diagnostics including vestibular and electrophysiology, as well as fitting and rehabilitation of adult and pediatric hearing aids and tinnitus treatment. Ms. Levengood has previously interned at multiple medical office settings such as a full-service university clinic, private practice, and an Ear, Nose & Throat Center. She is a member of the Student Academy of Audiology and has special interests in audiology including: vestibular assessment, electrophysiology, and hearing aids.

In her spare time, Lauren enjoys spending time with family in Pennsylvania, trying new restaurants, and taking her dog on walks.

Megan Boehler, Audiology Fellow

Megan is originally from Leawood, KS. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language-Hearing from the University of Kansas in 2016. She spent a year working as a special education paraprofessional before attending Salus University's Osborne College of Audiology. Megan is completing her final year of the doctoral program at Hearing Resource Center and Ear, Nose, & Throat and Facial Plastic Surgery Center of Fredericksburg as an Audiology Fellow. She will be specializing in audiological diagnostics including vestibular and electrophysiology, fitting and rehabilitation of adult and pediatric hearing aids, and tinnitus treatment. Megan has previously interned at a VA medical center, pediatric hospital, private practice, and an Ear, Nose, & Throat center. She is an active member of the Student Academy of Audiology and has special interests in audiology such as: diagnostic audiometry, vestibular testing, electrophysiology, cochlear implants, bone-anchored hearing aids, and hearing aids with patients of all ages.

Megan enjoys going to lakes and beaches, baking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.


Samantha McMahon, Audiology Fellow

Samantha is originally from Long Island, New York. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from Towson University in 2017. She is currently completing her fourth year of the doctor of audiology program at Salus University. During this fourth year, Samantha will be working at Hearing Resource Center and Ear, Nose & Throat and Facial Plastic Surgery Center of Fredericksburg as one of the Audiology Fellows. She will be specializing in audiological diagnostics including vestibular and electrophysiology, fitting and rehabilitation of adult and pediatric hearing aids, and tinnitus treatment. During her time at Salus, Samantha was a student intern at a private practice, an ENT center, a VA medical center, and an outpatient clinic of a hospital. Samantha is an active member of the Student Academy of Audiology within which she was the Hearing Screening Chair, and she is the current Audiology class of 2021 Vice President. Her audiological interests include electrophysiology, vestibular testing, diagnostic audiology, and cochlear implant devices.

Samantha enjoys spending time with family and friends, loves trying new restaurants, and finding the best spot to capture the sunset.
