Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Reconstructive surgery is different from cosmetic surgery in that it is used to correct abnormal facial structures as opposed to enhancing already normal appearances. In recent years, as the popularity of plastic surgery has dramatically increased, it has allowed more research and afforded many advances in technology. Plastic surgery has also grown extensively and has now become more accessible to a wider range of people. It is not just associated with Hollywood stars anymore.

Reconstructive facial surgery can help people who suffer with cancers of the head and neck. While the main goal in treating cancer is for the patient to live cancer free, doing so can have devastating effects on the patient's body. Following treatment patients may suffer physical deformities and scars. For such patients, facial reconstructive surgery can help make their life more comfortable.
