Harrison G. Bartels, M.D.

Harrison G. Bartels, M.D. is a Facial Plastic Surgeon specializing in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head, and neck. Dr. Bartels is board-certified with the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is board-eligible with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

While Dr. Bartels is new to Fredericksburg, he is a native of the Southeast. He grew up in Raleigh, North Carolin. He earned his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.  

Dr. Bartels completed five years of residency training in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Virginia under the highly-regarded facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Stephen Park. During residency, he developed a particular interest in facial plastic surgery and pursued additional fellowship training with Dr. Edward Farrior at Farrior Facial Plastic Surgery in Tampa, Florida.

Before joining us in Fredericksburg, Dr. Bartels worked for a year on New Zealand’s South Island followed by two years working exclusively as a facial plastic surgeon with Farrior Facial Plastic Surgery. There, he gained extensive experience in facial surgery to include functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation surgery, and reconstruction following skin cancer resection.

Dr. Bartels is currently available for booking new patients in Fredericksburg VA and will be performing cosmetic surgeries beginning Summer 2026.
